Once a teacher, always a teacher... Enjoy!
The layout is pretty primitive.. but hey, I've never done this before. :)
Also, I forgot to add to add a supply list to the tutorial-- and I had already flattened my image. Whoops. So, here you go..
Supply list for Glass Pendant
1. Glass Tile (I used a 1''x1'', but any size will work)
2. Mod Podge
3. E6000 or Beacon's 527 adhesive (or any other all purpose, strong adhesive)
4. 1 Bail (or get creative and bend wire to make your own!)
5. Paper, and/or Ink, Stamps to design the pendant
That's it! Ok, here goes!

some time to myself...
What a great thing-- to have a day to do nothing but what makes your heart absolutely HAPPY. I decided to try a few new ideas with the supplies that recently came in the mail... I made some random beads with the new Sculpey and am in the process of (literally) letting paint/ink dry on some glass pendants I decided to try to make! I'll post a tutorial/pictorial on that later! For now, here's a picture of my work space, taken last week sometime. The colors make me happy.
The painting on the table was one done for a dear, lovely, beautiful inside-&-out friend, Megan. It is now, as we speak, on its way to Maine & her lovely self. <3 Next assignment for paintings-- finish the beast in my art room (not visible in this photo) and paint my sister & I for her graduation... wowsa, she's graduating high school.
Also, I just noticed as this was uploading-- the random palette being used as a coaster for my latte... hahaha...

& so, the first step is taken...
After a full day at work and a cancelled gym trip (we women are complicated creatures), I went to Michael's and splurged with my V-day gift certificate! I got, for a grand total of $24.52...
A 6 piece set of jewelry making pliers
2 8yrd rolls of 20 gauge silver wire
4 packages of Sculpey (2 white, 1 yellow, 1 purple)
One texture sheet
A cabachon to practice on
...& a mini green neo-victorian frame because it was adorable and I just had to.
Things Michael's did NOT have, FYI...:
1. Diamond Glaze
2. Liquid Clay
3. Selection of Resin (one kind only)
4. Brayers
5. Selection of Alcohol inks (limited variety)
However, here is the loot! I was psyched!
Now I just have to wait for what I got online to come in the mail... eeeee :) :) :)
So of course the second I got home I had to turn my cabachon and wire into something, to feel productive. So here is my very first attempt at wire wrapping a pendant! I'm excited about this... I want to get lots better so I can add them to the Etsy shop!
I think I need to figure out in more detail what all my pliers are for, because they must help shape wire, right? The only pliers I used in the making of this were the bent nose pliers (I think) to cut the wire. All the twisting and knotting was completely by hand.. no tools. I feel like knowing my pliers will help me be able to do more intricate designs/twists/knots with the wire.
In other news, I painted a couple signs with phrases, kind of young looking, but I think maybe they'd be cute for the right audience. I want to do a whole series with different background colors and phrases. I might hang them in my kitchen, or put them in the shop. Ideas?
Here are the two I've done so far...
That's about it for today! Hope everyone had a lovely, inspiring, happy, Tuesday!

Etsy-- back in action
The new (or old) Etsy shop is alive, re-vamped and growing!
Today, on my coveted snow day from my "real" job, I decided to take advantage of the time I was given and be a BAD girlfriend, set aside the laundry, dishes, and cleaning that I should do with the day and devote HOURS to ordering new supplies, creating a new banner, and revamping my last year's created Etsy site. I feel that I was extremely lucky the first time around with Etsy-- I posted a mere 4 photographs, mostly on a whim, and they all sold within a month. I had heard horror stories of Etsy shops taking months and months to take off, so I was thrilled with the progress! However, it was a busy time for me-- student teaching, graduating college, applying for graduate school, etc, and before I knew it, I had become an Etsy neglector! :( Rather than let the shop go to shambles, I "closed" it down and waited for until I knew I was ready to commit to it.
So, she's back up and running, and true to form, I've only posted a select few photographs so far. However, I have big plans for her! :p I have been working on some mixed media paintings that should go up soon, along with some jewelry, which is a new venture for me. (Another thing I did today with my time off-- ordered some jewelry making supplies-- woo!) I alllsooo have a lovely gift certificate to Michael's from my (go figure) loooovely boyfriend to spend. Haven't decided if I'll venture out into the snow yet to use it today or not...
That's about all for now, except, oooo, here's a screenshot of the new shop!
& here's the link!

Welcome!
As I begin the journey of attempting a faithful Etsy experience, along with revamping my photography, AND having a full time job (mostly to support this lovely creative endeavor of mine), I decided to document the experience! So here we are. Bear with me as the blog unfolds in both content and style...
